In wake of rising crime, police launch community outreach program
In wake of the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab’s posh district- Mohali, the local police authorities initiated a public outreach program. The senior police officials Friday met the representatives of various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs).
Mohali’s SP (City) Dilpreet Singh, chaired a coordination meeting at IT City Police Station. During the meeting the police officials asked the RWAs to co-ordinate with the police so that the police could get more information about the suspicious activities.
The SP City emphasized regular PCR patrolling in residential societies and directed that any suspicious activity be immediately reported to the police. An Inter-Society Coordination (ISC) WhatsApp group has been created for quick communication between RWAs, security heads and police officials.
Special focus was laid on fire safety in high-rise buildings, particularly in Sector-113, with directions to ensure that all fire-fighting equipment is installed, functional and within validity. Mandatory police verification of tenants and domestic help was reiterated.
SP City urged RWAs and society management to cooperate closely with the police to ensure safety and security.
