New Delhi: The Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) is staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar in Delhi demanding the release of the Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentence.
Lok Sabha member Simranjit Singh Mann participated in the protest.
A large number of followers from Punjab and various states also took part in the protest sit-in organised by the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.
In this sit-in, panthic and political organizations kept their distance, especially no Sikh leader from Delhi joined the protest.

Addressing the gathering, MP Simranjit Singh Mann has called for a boycott of the ‘Hari Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
Pertinently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and appealed to the people to hoist the tricolor at their homes on the completion of 75 years of the country’s independence.
Likewise, MP Mann has called for a boycott of this campaign.

“I appeal that on August 14-15, put up ‘Nishan Sahib’ in your homes and offices. Deep Sidhu, who is no longer among us, used to say that Sikhs are free and part of a separate nation,”Mann said.
Earlier, SAD (Badal) MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal had also raised the issue of the release of Singh prisoners in the Lok Sabha.
