Surrey: A person was killed in a motor vehicle collision in the Whalley area of the city on Friday.
Surrey RCMP said officers responded to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Highway 17 and Old Yale Road at 12:26 pm.
“The collision involved two vehicles. Despite the efforts of first responders, one person has succumbed to their injuries and two people have been transported to hospital,” the RCMP said in a press release.
According to the Mounties, Surrey RCMP’s Criminal Collison Investigating Team and Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team are investigating the cause of this collision.
“Police will be conducting a full investigation into the cause of the collision, including what role speed or other driving behaviours may have played in this collision,” said Cpl. Sarbjit Sangha, Surrey RCMP Media Relations Unit.
