Surrey: A man has been killed and another was injured following a shooting in the Guildford area in Surrey on Tuesday evening.
After the fatal shooting, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called to the scene.
According to the Surrey RCMP, officers received a report of a shooting in a parking lot in the 14800 block of 108 Avenue at approximately 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
The RCMP said the officers located two victims suffering from gunshot wounds and they were taken to hospital. The police said one of the victims succumbed to his injuries.
“Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase. However, initial information suggests that this was a targeted incident with ties to the BC Gang Conflict,” said Surrey RCMP in a press release.
“A possible suspect vehicle was located a short time later in Langley, with indications that an attempt was made to light it on fire,” the RCMP added.
