Ontario: York Regional Police are investigating the matter after a driver was killed when his vehicle got struck an escaped horses in Newmarket on Friday morning.

According to the information, around 3a.m. on Friday, police received a call about an accident on Davis Drive east of Keele Street. Police officials found a vehicle overturned on the spot and athe driver was found with grave injuries on the spot.

He was declared later brought dead by the hospital staff. Police said 20 to 30 horses were roaming freely around the road when the accident took place.

Investigators are trying to find out if the accident was caused by these horses. A horse was also found dead near the accident spot. Officials suspect that the horses escaped from a nearby farm. Police said farm officials were also present at the spot to control the horses.

The investigation is underway into the incident.
