Chandigarh: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday has granted anticipatory bail to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal.
Badal had filed an application in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking anticipatory bail after being summoned by the court in the Kotkapura firing case. The high court also directed the Punjab government to file a status report.
Earlier, a Faridkot court had allowed the anticipatory bail application of SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal.
On February 25, the SIT probing the 2015 Kotkapura police firing case had filed a charge sheet in a Faridkot court inducting former Punjab CM Badal and Sukhbir Badal besides others.
