Chandigarh: An FIR has been lodged against Congress MLA from Shahkot assembly seat Hardev Singh Laadi Sherowalia for violation of code of conduct.
He had stopped the convoy of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Baba Bakala in Amritsar, accusing Dalbir Singh Tong of violating the Election Commission’s code of conduct on the day of voting for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election.
A case has been registered against the Congress MLA at Shahkot police station on the complaint of Gagandeep Arora, driver of MLA Dalbir Tong. Apart from this, 12 other people have also been named in the FIR.
Gagandeep said in his complaint that he was taking MLA Tong’s convoy to Sultanpur Lodhi by Jalandhar.
Meanwhile, Shahkot MLA Hardev Singh Laadi Sherowalia along with his supporters stopped their vehicle. They even took out the keys of his car and forcibly detained them. After this, they called the police on the spot for their rescue.
