Chandigarh: Balkaur Singh, father of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, said he would canvass against the Punjab government in the Jalandhar by-election.

“We will tell people that instead of giving justice in the case of the murder of my son, Bhagwant Mann Government has rubbed salt on wounds. People should not be misled by them,” Balkaur Singh said while addressing Sidhu’s fans at village Moosa on Sunday.

Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh is disgruntled with the Punjab government. He said when he staged a sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly over the murder of his son, minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal had assured him that the government was serious about it and would hold a meeting with the chief minister after March 20.

He said that now they do not have any remorse for the government. When the government resorted to tactics to thwart the celebration of his son’s first death anniversary, it seemed as if his son had died for the second time. Balkaur Singh Sidhu said that there is an attempt to dub gangster Lawrence Bishnoi as a nationalist, whose hands are stained with the blood of innocent youth.

“Until justice is delivered for the son’s murder… Until then, we will continue our struggle. Of course, there are constant threats to silence me, but I am not afraid of any threat. I will continue to fight till his last breath,” he said.

He said Sidhu Moosewala’s only fault was that he had achieved great success at a young age and his success was not tolerated by some people.

Meanwhile, after being released from jail, Navjot Sidhu will reach Sidhu Moosewala’s house on Monday afternoon. He will meet parents and share his grief.
