Chandigarh: The Income Tax Department (IT) has raided the house, farm house and crusher of former Congress MLA Joginder Pal from Halka Bhoa in Pathankot. The Income Tax team reached Joginder Pal’s house in Sujanpur on Friday. After this, his crusher and farm house were raided.

According to sources, searches have also been conducted at the houses of several close relatives of Joginder Pal. For a long time, the Income Tax Department was investigating Joginder Pal’s income and income sources during his tenure. Former MLA Joginder Pal, a big sand trader, has been in the news during his tenure.

Joginder Pal has been arrested in the illegal mining case

Earlier, former MLA Joginder Pal was also arrested by the police on charges of illegal mining. The police had taken him on a two-day remand. Joginder Pal was referred to PGI from Guru Nanak Dev Medical College Amritsar after his health deteriorated at that time.

The police had registered a case against five persons

On June 8 this year, police raided Krishna stone crusher in Kidi Khurd on a complaint by a mining officer. Police teams had seized poclain machines, JCBs and tractor-trolleys from the spot for carrying out illegal mining. Poclain driver Sunil Kumar and crusher employee Prakash had fled from the spot.

After investigation, the police had booked a total of five people, including Joginder Pal’s wife Krishna, another partner Lakshya Mahajan.
