New Delhi: The Centre government has once again cracked down on 6 YouTube channels airing anti-national content.

According to the information, all these YouTube channels were broadcasting pro-Khalistani content, for this reason they have been blocked, confirmed the Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apoorva Chandra.

“At least six YouTube channels allegedly promoting pro-Khalistan sentiments have been blocked on the directions of the government,” Chandra said.

Apart from this, the government has instructed YouTube to remove anti-India content and also take action against channels broadcasting such content. Another senior official said, “YouTube is acting on the government’s request to block the channels within 48 hours.

However, there are language-related problems in this. “YouTube’s algorithm is finding it difficult to understand the local language of India,” the official said.

“The government has also asked YouTube to use artificial intelligence and algorithms to identify and block objectionable content. However, in the Indian context, YouTube was facing problems as content was being uploaded in regional languages and systems were in place to screen content in English language.”
