Surrey: Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called following the discovery of a body in the Whalley area of Surrey on Wednesday.
RCMP said officers located a body in an alley in the area of 103A Avenue and Old Yale Road at approximately 5:00 pm.
According to the Surrey RCMP, investigators sought assistance from the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and are working closely with the BC Coroners Service to determine the cause of death.
The RCMP said at this time, it is believed criminality is a factor, therefore the IHIT has been deployed and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit.
“Officers are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for further information and evidence,” the RCMP added.
