Chandigarh: Three days after Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that Goldy Brar, who had hatched the conspiracy to kill Sidhu Moosewala, was detained in the US, the gangster claimed in an interview on YouTube that he was neither in anyone’s custody nor has he been taken into custody. The gangster has made this claim to a YouTube journalist.
However, this video has not been officially confirmed by authorities yet. Brar is seen saying in the video that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s claim of his detention is completely false.
The gangster said that he is not even in US. Brar’s video is a big embarrassment for Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as he had made the above claim while interacting with the media in Gujarat.
The chief minister’s media team, which also included some IAS officers from Punjab, had told reporters to be prepared for the crucial press conference in which the chief minister would explain in detail how Brar was taken into custody. The above claim of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is another setback for the Punjab Police in the Moosewala case as when a wanted Indian criminal is nabbed abroad, such cases are dealt with by the Government of India and central agencies.
Earlier, the Delhi Special Cell police had arrested most of the shooters involved in the Moosewala murder case. Later, another accused in the case, Deepak Tinu, escaped from the custody of Mansa police with the help of a sub-inspector of Punjab Police.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia had yesterday claimed that Chief Minister Mann had lied about the detention of Goldy Brar in the US. State Tourism Minister Anmol Gagan Mann had said on Saturday that Brar would be brought back to India soon.
