Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said he has no role in granting parole to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.
Interacting with the media persons during a press conference, Haryana CM said that he has no role as it is the job of the court of granting bail or parole to any person. The court decides whom to give parole. He doesn’t want to say anything more on this issue.
The Dera Sacha Sauda chief was granted 40-day parole last week. He was convicted last year for hatching a conspiracy to kill Ranjit Singh, a Dera manager, in 2002. He is also accused of raping two disciples.
The opposition target ruling BJP government claiming that the Dera Sacha Sauda chief has been granted parole in view of the Adampur by-election.
After coming on parole, the Dera Sacha Sauda chief is attending big events and BJP leaders are also reaching the events and meeting the Dera chief.
Parole to Ram Rahim before every election
Ram Rahim has been lodged in Sunaria jail since August 2017. Ram Rahim was first brought to PGI Rohtak and Gurugram on the pretext of medical examination to meet his ailing mother. Ram Rahim got a parole of 21 days on February 7 just before the Punjab elections this year.
After this, on June 17, Ram Rahim was given parole for 30 days and he stayed at Baghpat Ashram in UP.
Now in October 2022, Ram Rahim has got 40 days parole. Now Adampur by-elections, Panchayat elections of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh elections are going to be held in November 2022.
