Mississauga: Peel Regional Police have provided an update into the fatal carjacking incident in which 24-year-old Gurvinder Nath succumbed to his injuries sustained during the incident.

In a press statement on Friday, Peel Regional Police said, “Investigators have reason to believe there are multiple suspects involved and that the food order was placed as a means of luring the driver to the area. It is believed that Gurvinder was an innocent victim although every potential motive is being explored.”

Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are asking for the public’s assistance to identify the suspects of the incident.

The incident occurred on July 9 in the area of Britannia Road and Creditview in Mississauga.

The police said Gurvinder was working as a food delivery driver, when a call was placed for a food order. Upon arrival, he was violently assaulted and robbed of his vehicle.

The police said on July 14, he succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a trauma centre.

Investigators have also identified a suspect vehicle as a 2012 to 2017 white Hyundai Accent sedan.  “The suspect vehicle has a distinctive flashing blue light at the top of the windshield,” the police said.

According to the police, a male is seen exiting the vehicle and he was wearing dark clothing.
