Chandigarh: Firing has taken place in Bathinda Military Station of Punjab. Four soldiers have died in this incident. The incident is said to have taken place at 4.35 am on Wednesday. The cause of the firing is yet to be ascertained.
A search operation is also underway. The entire area has been cordoned off.

Punjab Police sources have revealed that the shootout took place at army cantt Bathinda Geo Mess. All entry gates of Army Cantt have been closed. About two days ago, 28 cartridges, including an INSAS rifle, also went missing. Some army personnel may be behind this incident. The Army has not yet allowed the local police to enter the Cantonment area.
