Ottawa: Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney is recovering from prostate cancer. This was confirmed by sources close to them.
Mulroney, 84, underwent treatment in Montreal last year and is now doing fine and recovering.
As canada’s 18th prime minister, Mulroney successfully ran progressive Conservative majority governments between 1984 and 1993.
Over the past few years, he has been sharing guidance and experiences on federal politics and helping to take the Conservative movement forward.
Mulroney praised Queen Elizabeth at the National Compensation Ceremony organized by Christ Church Cathedral in Ottawa in September last year. Mulroney has also received several awards for his leadership and contribution to Canada.
According to the Canadian Cancer Society, prostate cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths among men in Canada.
According to the society’s estimates, 67 people are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the country every day.
