Chandigarh: The Vigilance questioned former minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon for seven to eight hours in connection with an alleged multi-crore irrigation scam during the SAD-BJP government.

Earlier, the Vigilance had questioned former IAS officers KBS Sidhu and former minister Sharanjit Singh Dhillon in this case.

It may be recalled that contractor Gurinder Singh, the main accused in the scam, was arrested by the Vigilance in December 2017.

The Captain government had then ordered an inquiry against the two Akali leaders on the basis of a report submitted by the Vigilance Bureau, but three senior bureaucrats were not questioned.
