Ontario: The Ford government confirmed on Tuesday that it is going to shift the Ontario Science Center to Toronto’s renovated Ontario Place.

Premier Doug Ford revealed plans for the next phase of Ontario Place, where a new location will also be included for the Science Center.

There will also be facilities like amphitheater, public beach, bars, restaurants, new marinas and spas.

Addressing a news conference at Ontario Place, Ford said it would be the State of the Art Science Centre.

Ontario Tourism Minister Neil Lumsden said the science center will be brought to the waterfront site in 2025 and will remain at its current location on Don Mills Road in North York until then.

“In the coming years, we look forward to working with our staff, visitors and communities,” the Science Centre said in a statement.

Ford said the existing science center will be kept open for the time being.

It will then be demolished for housing at this place.
