Chandigarh: There was a lot of ruckus during the presentation of the confidence motion in the Punjab Assembly today. The Congress walked out of the House while BJP boycotted the session.
During this, CM Bhagwant Mann launched a scathing attack on the Congress. He alleged that Congress connived with the BJP.
Not only this, Mann also targeted former CM Charanjit Singh Channi and said that this is the first time that a former CM of Punjab has left the country. This happens only in Pakistan.
During the proceedings of the session in the House, Bhagwant Mann questioned the absence of former CM Charanjit Singh Channi. “Where has Channi disappeared after the elections, he was the CM candidate. He had taken wrong decisions on many files in his 111-day tenure. We want to know why he did that?”
He said, “Why is he hiding, because he had taken many wrongs decisions before the elections, I have all the files and proper inquiry will be conducted to nail all those looted Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann further said, “For the first time, a former CM of Punjab left the country immediate after election and yet not returned. It generally happens in Pakistan.”
For the past several months, former Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi has been abroad. He is reportedly preparing his PhD thesis in the US. It is being told that Channi left India two months after the punjab election results. According to Congress sources, he has been pursuing his PhD on ‘Indian National Congress Central Organisation and Electoral Strategy since 2004’ from Panjab University for a long time.
May come to India next month
In Punjab, he was always busy with politics and did not get time to study,” Channi’s younger brother Manohar Singh said that he is currently in the US and has decided to devote time exclusively to his PhD thesis studies which he wants to complete soon. He is likely to return to India next month.
