Ottawa: The upcoming federal budget will include a six-billion-dollar infrastructure fund to support homebuilding, as well as a 400-million-dollar top-up to the housing accelerator fund.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made the announcement in Halifax today, saying one-billion-dollars will be available to cities for urgent infrastructure needs.
Five-billion-dollars will be allocated for agreements with provinces and territories to support long-term priorities.
But the funds will only flow if the provinces and territories commit to certain actions, like adopting the recently announced renters’ bill of rights
