Chandigarh: Dera Sacha Sauda has strongly condemned the killing of Dera follower Pardeep Singh in Kotkapura, Punjab.
In a statement issued by Dera spokespersons Jatinder Khurana Insan and Sandeep Kaur Insan, it has been said that Dera Sirsa respects all religions. Far from desecrating any religion, the devotees cannot even think of this.
He said that a high-level impartial inquiry should be conducted into the matter at the earliest and strictest action should be taken against the culprits. The Dera appeals to the followers to maintain peace and tranquility.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a high-level meeting with senior officers of state administration and Punjab police, directed the Special DGP (Home Guard) Sanjeev Kalra that none of the culprits responsible for the killing of Dera follower should be spared and the accused must be given stern punishment as per law.
Chief Minister also ordered the Special DGP to conduct a review of licensed firearms across the state to find out the use of firearms in such criminal activities.
