Surrey: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland on Thursday visited the city of Surrey. 

Sharing more information about her visit to the city, Sukh Dhaliwal, MP from Surrey-Newton, said Chrystia Freeland, alongside with him and other dignitaries, visited Power Tech Labs in Surrey. 

Sukh Dhaliwaal said Power Tech Labs is one of the largest testing and research labs in North America and home to a broad range of engineers, scientists, and technical specialists from around the world.

On Thursday, the Deputy Prime Minister also held a meeting with BC premier David Eby. About her meeting the BC premier, Freeland wrote on Twitter that after visiting PowerTech, David Eby and she sat down to discuss the importance of clean energy for great careers in British Columbia, how we can continue working together to tackle money laundering, and how to build more homes for people across B.C. 

While during a brief interaction with Sher-E-Punjab’s Dr Jasbeer Romana, Freeland said, “I am very happy to be in Surrey. I am sitting at the table with my friend Sukh Dhaliwal and Randeep Sarai. They have been talking to me about Surrey and communities and what they need. I have been noting down it.”
