More than 5000 nurses of AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science) go on indefinite strike demanding better salary structure. Earlier the strike was scheduled on Wednesday, but the strike called before on Tuesday after the institute premier converted the terms of employment from permanent to contract basis.
Meanwhile, The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has asked to call off their strike or action will be taken under Disaster Management Act. The nurse unions claimed they were assured by Union Health Minister in October 2019 were resurrected as per sixth pay commission which is yet to be done.
