New Delhi: The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) today told the Delhi High Court that the board has decided to allow Sikh candidates to appear for the examination wearing a kada and kirpan (Sri Sahib) but for this, the candidates will have to reach the examination center one hour before the exam time.

Taking note of the affidavits filed by the counsel for the DSSSB Board, Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramonium Prasad said there was no need to pass any further orders in this regard and disposed of the petition filed by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).

The bench said that the board has already issued revised guidelines which clearly show that it has allowed kada or kirpandhari Sikh candidates to appear for the examination.

However, such candidates will not have to report to the examination center at least one hour before the examination time.
