New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia was produced before the CBI on Monday afternoon in Rouse Avenue Court.
Sisodia has been remanded to five days by the CBI by the Rouse Avenue Court. Manish Sisodia will remain in CBI remand till March 4. The CBI had sought a five-day remand after presenting Sisodia from the court, which was accepted by the court.
The CBI told the court that the commission was increased from Rs 5 crore to Rs 12 crore at the behest of Sisodia. Remand is required for interrogation.
Manish Sisodia’s lawyer Dayan Krishna opposed the CBI’s demand for his remand. He also said there was no reason to seek remand and allegations of not cooperating in the investigation were “baseless”.
Sisodia’s counsel said the commission was increased after the lieutenant governor’s approval. Everything happened to LG’s knowledge. There was transparency in the liquor policy.
