New Delhi: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has removed Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Jasmine Shah and Naveen Gupta, son of AAP MP Narayan Das Gupta, from the board of power distribution companies.

LG alleged that Rs 8,000 crore was aided and benefits were taken in return by illegally appointing these two people as government representatives on the boards of these companies.

Now BSES Yamuna, BSES Rajdhani and North Delhi Power Distribution Corporation Limited will be the Finance Secretary power secretary and MD of Delhi Transco on the board of Discoms.

The matter has been referred to the President by the Lieutenant Governor under the Difference of Opinion and ordered the removal of two people belonging to the AAP from the board with immediate effect.

The LG alleged that instead of being vigilant in the interest of the people of Delhi, these two people were participating in the decisions of the power distribution companies and facilitating their decisions.

The AAP has strongly opposed this decision of the Lieutenant Governor. AAP said that the decision to remove Jasmine Shah and Naveen Gupta is illegal and unconstitutional. Only an elected government can take such a decision. LG has made a mockery of all the orders of the Supreme Court and the Constitution.
