New Delhi: A Bengaluru court has directed Twitter to temporarily block the handles of the Congress party and Bharat Jodo Yatra. Mrt Music Company had filed a copyright case against Congress. It is alleged that videos with songs from KGF-2 film were shared on these handles. In doing so, copyright was allegedly infringed.
MRT Music had lodged an FIR at Yeshwantpur police station against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh and Supriya Shrinet. The music company had said in its complaint that it had paid a lot of money to get the rights of KGF-2 songs in Hindi.
What did the music company say?
“These illegal acts by a national political party reflect their gross disregard for the rule of law and the rights of private individuals and institutions,” mrtmusic said in a statement. While they are organizing this Bharat Jodo Yatra in search of an opportunity to rule the country and make laws to protect the rights of the common man and businesses.
Court orders blocking of account
On this matter, the court said that it was proved through the CD on behalf of the petitioner that the original version of the song has been used with some changes. This type of marketing videos gives a boost to piracy.
In its order, the court directed Twitter to remove three links from the two handles and further ordered the blocking of the Twitter handles of Congress and Bharat Jodo Yatra.
