New Delhi: The Congress has released its election manifesto for Himachal Pradesh on Saturday ahead of the state assembly elections in December.
The Congress promised to give one lakh government jobs to the youth in the first cabinet. Along with this, the old pension scheme will be restored. Every woman from 18 to 60 years will be given a pension of Rs 1500 per month.
300 units of electricity will be given free. Four English medium schools will be opened in each assembly. 5 lakh jobs will be given to the youth in 5 years.
The Congress, which is trying to form the government in Himachal Pradesh, has made populist promises. It has something for class. From youth to women and farmers to traders, the Congress has left no stone unturned to woo them.
The Congress has promised in its manifesto that 10 litres of milk will be purchased every day from cow and buffalo farmers. Villagers will be given four times compensation on land acquisition for construction of road. An agriculture commission will be formed, which will decide the price of crops after talking to farmers. If the Congress government is formed, cow dung will be purchased at Rs 2 per kg.
80% reservation will be given for the youth of Himachal in private industries of Himachal Government. Old age pension will be increased.
Special social security pension will be given to citizens above 75 years of age. All contract rules of the police will be regularized in 2 years instead of 8 years. Canteen facilities for soldiers and ex-servicemen will be expanded. The Congress promised to give additional salary of the 13th month to the police employees on the basis of the new pay scale. The Congress government will start mobile-clinic facility in remote areas of Himachal. This will make it possible to get treatment for minor diseases in the village itself.
An anti-drug enforcement authority will be set up under the chairmanship of a retired high court judge to strengthen the campaign against drugs in Himachal. De-addiction centres will be set up in every sub-division. Free coaching will be given to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students in the coaching center of professional and competitive examinations.
The Congress government will set up a ‘Youth Commission’ in Himachal. A policy will be made to promote micro and cottage industries at the village level, so that ‘Rural Industrial Parks’ can be developed, Congress party said in its manifesto.
