New Delhi: Congress leader and former minister Raja Pateria has been arrested by the Panna police for making controversial remarks about the Prime Minister.
The arrest was made from Pateria’s residence in Damoh district. On Monday, an FIR was lodged against Pateria at Powai police station in Panna. Panna police have left with Pateria.
The Congress has completely distanced itself from Pateria’s statement. It has also said that such statements will not be accepted.
Former minister Raja Pateria was arrested by Panna police from his residence at 4 am and Raja Pateria was arrested at 5.30 am. The police took Pateria to Powai police station and produced in court this morning.
Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh Police had registered a case against Pateria on Monday under various sections. Home Minister Narottam Mishra had issued a statement saying that following the complaint, a case was registered against Pateria at Powai police station in Panna district on Monday afternoon under sections 451, 504, 505 (1-B), 505 (1-C), 506, 153-B (1C) of the Indian Penal Code.
At the same time, the Congress distanced itself from this whole matter. Congress condemned its leader’s remarks against Prime Minister Modi, saying the statement was not acceptable to the party.
