New Delhi: Congress is going to start Bharat Jodo Yatra from today and former Congress president and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi has reached Sriperumbudur.

Before starting the journey from there, Gandhi reached the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial and paid tribute to his father there. Ahead of Mission 2024, the Congress has started trying to revive the party through a ‘padyatra’.

The yatra will pass through 12 states and 2 union territories. The yatra will reach Kashmir by walking 21 km every day and covering a distance of 3,570 km in 150 days.

Earlier this entire yatra was to be under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, but now he will continue to join the yatra in between.

He will also attend a function in Kanyakumari where Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin will hand over the national flag to him.

Stalin will also be present during the event at ‘Gandhi Mandapam’ in Kanyakumari, after which Rahul Gandhi along with other Congress leaders will go to the venue of the public rally from where the yatra will formally begin. The 3,570-km journey from Kanyakumari to Srinagar will formally begin at the rally.

The padyatra will reach Kerala on September 11 and reach Karnataka on September 30 through the state for the next 18 days.
