Surrey: In view of a heat warning, the City of Surrey has made arrangements at public spaces to stay cool and tips on how to spot the signs of heat exhaustion.

“It is important to protect yourself from the extreme heat the Lower Mainland will be experiencing this week,” said Mayor Brenda Locke.

“The City of Surrey has a number of public locations where you can stay cool. From our air-conditioned recreation centres and libraries to our public pools and spray parks, I urge anyone who needs relief from the heat to make full use of these facilities.”

“It is also important to check on the elderly and those who are living alone to see if they require any assistance. Stay cool, stay hydrated and together we can beat the heat.”

The City of Surrey said the complete list of heat relief locations and tips for staying cool can be found at www.surrey.ca/heatrelief.

According to the City, residents can also receive emergency notifications through the Alertable app.
