Ontario: London-born Bangladeshi-origin woman Shamima Begum, who left the UK and joined the Islamic State (ISIS) terror network, was trafficked to Syria by a Canadian spy.

According to Richard Kerbaj who outlines the apparent cover-up in a book called ‘The Secret History of the Five Eyes’ claims that Canada privately accepted its participation and then asked British authorities to cover up role of Canadian spy.

Kerbaj claimed he interviewed several Canadian intelligence officials for the book to confirm the timeline of events. “I think the cover-up here is worse than crime in many ways because you would expect human intelligence agencies to recruit members of criminal groups and terrorist groups.

Married to a Dutch fighter

Begum, known as an ISIS bride after marrying a Dutch fighter from the terrorist network in Syria, gave birth to three children all of whom later died.

She has been at the centre of a row over her rights after joining IS in 2015.

She was a 15-year-old schoolgirl when she along with two teenagers travelled from east London to Syria in 2015.

Now it is alleged that Begum now 23, along with 16-year-old Kadiza Sultana and 15-year-old Amira Abase, had met Mohammed Al Rasheed at Istanbul Train Station to help them get into Islamic State.
