Ottawa: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) of Canada issued 4,800 invitation to apply (ITAs) to candidates in all-program draw for permanent residence under the Express Entry system.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of lowest-ranked candidate invited was 488 for this draw, which is five point higher than previous draw. This was the first all-program draw since April 26.

The candidates were expecting that the government will further reduce the CRS score but it has again increased the cut out for candidates.

Meanwhile, after the Bill C-19 received Royal Assent in June 2022, it is expected that IRCC would initiate draws that target express entry candidates on specific attributes rather than high CRS score.

IRCC had resumed this program last year after a hiatus of about one and half years due to unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic.

Under the express entry draw system, Candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades and Provincial Nominee Program were eligible for this round of invitations.
