Chandigarh: A gypsy deployed under the security cover of Punjab Cabinet Minister Baljit Kaur hit a youth and a girl riding on a scooty in Chandigarh.
Two people were seriously injured in the accident. The collision took place at sector 27/28 light point at around 11 pm on Saturday, police said.
The accident took place when minister Baljit Kaur was on her way to attend a wedding ceremony.
The youth and the girl riding the scooty and the driver of the convoy’s gypsy were also injured in the accident. The three injured were admitted to GMCH-32.
The sector-26 police station officials recorded the statements of the injured.
According to the information received, the vehicle was going behind the cabinet minister’s convoy tonight, as soon as the car reached the lights of Sector-27/28, the car rammed into Activa from behind and climbed on to the footpath.
