New Delhi: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday said his party is not involved in the campaign for unity of opposition parties. The BJD will fight the Lok Sabha elections alone without forming an alliance with anyone.

Naveen Patnaik today ruled out any alliance with anyone for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. “We will fight the elections alone. We are not involved in the campaign for unity of opposition parties. The BJD will go it alone in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.”

Patnaik, who is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the construction of a new airport at Jagannath Puri, didn’t meet any other political party.

76-year-old Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is on a visit to Delhi. Asked if he would still contest the elections alone, he said, “That has always been the plan. I met the Prime Minister regarding the airport in Puri and the Prime Minister said that he will provide all possible help.”
