Chandigarh: Ahead of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visit to Jagraon in Ludhiana district, the Chief Minister security has reportedly forced local shopkeepers near the hospital to shut down their shops due to security reasons.
Chief Minister Mann inaugurated the mother and child hospital built at a cost of Rs 6 crore at Civil Hospital Jagraon. Security arrangements were kept strong during CM Mann’s visit as market around the Civil Hospital remained closed.
Similarly, media persons in Phagwara held a protest against the state government after it reportedly banned the entry of the media to local civil hospital where CM was to visit to inaugurate new ward.
They accused AAP of gagging media’s voice in the democratic country. However, later local administration pacified the matter.
Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that all poll promises of providing good education, crackdown on corruption are being fulfilled. He said that better hospitals will be built for the treatment of people. The same electricity bills of 50 lakh houses out of 70 lakh are now coming zero. The old pension scheme of the employees has been restored, which will benefit lakhs of employees.
About 20 thousand government jobs have been given. Moreover, 100 mohalla clinics are running, the rest are going to start more, CM said.
