Vancouver: British Columbia health officials are bringing back a mask requirement in health-care facilities as the province sees rising flu and COVID-19 cases.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said the masks must be worn by all health-care workers, volunteers and visitors in patient-care areas starting October 3.
Henry adds that seniors and other priority populations will be asked to book appointments for updated flu and COVID-19 vaccines starting October 10.
She notes that studies have shown the updated vaccines offer good protection from the latest COVID-19 variants circulating in the community now. — The Canadian Press
