The Surrey Board of Trade will induct its 56th Board Chair on June 17 at a Digital Surrey Economic Update and Annual General Meeting from 11:00am – 12:00pm. Baljit Dhaliwal, Owner of Tinker’s Tax & Accounting, will be inducted.
“I am humbled and honoured to be the 56th Chair of the Surrey Board of Trade during the 103rd year of Surrey’s business organization. I follow in the footsteps of many amazing leaders. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to roll up my sleeves with my fellow board directors to support and further the needs and interests of Surrey’s business community,” said Baljit Dhaliwal, incoming Surrey Board of Trade Chair.
Baljit is a spirited entrepreneur as a tax and educational consultant with over four decades of business and financial experience. Harnessing a diverse set of capabilities and partnerships, Baljit has specialized in post-secondary education for the past 20 years. He currently teaches and specializes in facilitating new ventures with critical, creative, and collaborative curriculum development and operations of private colleges. An alumnus of SFU, Baljit is currently working on completing his doctorate in educational leadership. His educational philosophy supports students through relevant and changing social and economic paradigms to better prepare and change their lives through education. His goal is to encourage more entrepreneurs in expanding their businesses to the fastest growing city. Surrey is a land of great opportunities and holds a beauty like no other. He is proud to reside in Surrey for the past 30 years and thoroughly enjoys a game of golf whenever time permits!

The Board Chair serves as Chief Governance Officer for the Surrey Board of Trade to ensure that the Board of Directors have a visionary future of not only the organization, but also for city-building initiatives in Surrey.
