British Columbia: B-C Ferries is releasing two conceptual renderings, giving passengers a sense of what its vessels will look like in 2029.
The company says the new vessels will replace up to six existing major vessels that are nearing their end-of-life and can carry up to 360 vehicles and 21 hundred passengers.
The company says the current, retiring vessels can carry up to 310 vehicles and up to 15 hundred people.
BC Ferries’ president and C-E-O Nicolas Jimenez says new vessels are greener, more efficient and standardized, which will significantly increase daily capacity while reducing environmental
impacts.
