New Delhi: A major train accident has occurred in Balasore, Odisha on Friday evening. According to the information received, the Coromandel Express passing through Balasore has derailed after colliding with a goods train.
After getting information about the incident, relief and rescue work has been started on the spot. At least 30 people were killed and more than 300 passengers were injured in the accident.
President Draupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have expressed grief over the train accident. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has rushed to the spot.
A total of 15 coaches of the Coromandel Express 12841 have derailed. Of these, 7 bogies overturned. Four coaches went out of the railway.
