Surrey RCMP is investigating after a 23-year-old man was dropped off at a local hospital with an apparent gunshot wound.

At approximately 2:30 pm, on July 8, 2021, Surrey RCMP was notified by medical staff that a man arrived at the hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his leg. Police are now working to confirm the location of the shooting.

Although this investigation is in the early stages, police believe this was a targeted shooting linked to gang activity. The victim is known to police.
