New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued some guidelines to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) amid rising cases of misbehaviour on aircraft.
The guidelines ask for preventing highly intoxicated persons from boarding flights, allowing consumption of limited quantity of alcohol, installation of CCTV cameras and making employees aware of sexual harassment.
In a letter to the Directorate General, the commission said it has noted the increasing incidents of misbehaviour on aircraft in recent months. Such incidents are extremely unpleasant and painful for the passengers.
The commission said that recently there have been cases of harassment and misconduct by passengers on two flights.
In a shocking incident, a 70-year-old woman was allegedly shown her genitals and urinated on an Air India flight from New York to New Delhi on November 26, 2022. In the second case reported on December 6, 2022, a man urinated on the seat of a woman passenger on an Air India flight from Paris to New Delhi.
The commission said it has issued a notice to the DGCA, taking suo motu cognisance of these incidents, seeking the action taken report of these incidents.
