Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to hold a meeting with district police commissioners and SSP rank officers today. In this meeting, 23 points are going to be discussed.

The meeting is being held after Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit’s visit to the border areas and his statement over rising drugs menace in the state.

The meeting will be held in the Punjab Civil Secretariat. Apart from the officials of the Commissioner and SSP rack, IG and DIG Border Range Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Rupnagar, Bathinda, Ferozepur and Faridkot Range have also been asked to attend this meeting.

In this meeting, 23 points are going to be discussed. For which information has also been sought from these officers.

Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, who is on a tour of border districts, had put the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the dock. The governor had said that now drugs have reached schools too. The situation is such that in villages, drugs are being found like goods available at general stores.

The Governor had said that parents are upset to see their children getting trapped into the drugs menace, but they are not able to do anything even if they want to. Children are trapped in the clutches of the drug mafia. The Governor had also made sharp comments on the functioning of Punjab Police.
