Chandigarh: A day after BMW India denied that they have any plans to set up a manufacturing unit in Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government defended Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s claims and said that the BMW company will soon set up its auto component manufacturing unit in Punjab.
AAP said that BMW company will set up its auto component manufacturing unit in Punjab as assured by top brass of the leading auto giant during deliberation with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
In a statement issued here, party’s chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang said that representatives of BMW assured the CM about this proposal, after CM Mann had invited them to invest in the Punjab.
He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s meeting with BMW officials in Germany yesterday held in cordial atmosphere. The Chief Minister told them the possibilities of investment in Punjab, to which BMW agreed.
Company officials clearly said that Punjabis are known for luxury vehicles and Punjab is also a big market. Therefore, if they set up a unit in Punjab, it will be of great benefit.
Lashing out at opposition, he said that they are vary to the progressive, prosperity and development of the state and putting baseless question mark on the project.
Earlier, opposition parties have attacked AAP led CM Bhagwant Mann for befooling people and termed it a party of liars.
