Chandigarh: A 20-year-old boy, who was abducted from Kotbhai village in Gidderbaha sub-division on November 25, was allegedly murdered for not paying a ransom of Rs 30 lakh.
According to the information, on November 25, the teenager, Harmandeep, was kidnapped and a ransom of Rs 30 lakh was demanded from his family.
According to sources, Harmandeep was killed by the kidnappers after not getting the ransom amount a few days after the kidnapping. But when the police arrested other accused, including the main kidnapper, they confessed to their crime on Saturday. The police, however, has yet not officially issued any statement in this regard.
Police said that youth was killed a few days after the kidnapping. But the police are trying to recover the body of the child. Harman Singh, 20, who was abducted from Kotbhai village on November 25, was killed by the abductors. After the kidnapping of the youth, a ransom of Rs 30 lakh was demanded.
The police have arrested some people in connection with the case.It is being told that the kidnapper gang has links with Rajasthan.
