Metro Vancouver: The Metro Vancouver Jewish community will hold a memorial on the anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel. The event, organized by the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, aims to honor the victims and will include enhanced security measures. The attack in 2023 resulted in over 1,200 Israeli deaths and the abduction of 250 hostages, sparking a severe conflict in Gaza with significant casualties.

The Vancouver Police Department is increasing security around places of worship and community centers, while protests in solidarity with Palestinians are also planned across Canada. The memorial is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m., but the location will be kept secret for safety reasons.
