British Columbia: British Columbia is completing its “Electric Highway,” a network of public EV fast-charging stations across the entire province, to be fully operational by the end of September. This network will have 155 charging sites with over 310 fast chargers, spaced about 150 kilometers apart, ensuring EV drivers can travel confidently throughout B.C. and beyond.
The initiative, part of the CleanBC climate action plan, aims to reduce range anxiety and promote clean energy use. B.C. plans to build 10,000 public charging stations by 2030, with over 5,300 already installed. Additionally, $14 million will be invested in the GoElectric Home and Workplace Charger Program to support EV charger installations at homes and businesses.
BC Hydro will also introduce new 400 kW chargers next year, which can provide up to 100 kilometers of charge in just a few minutes.
