Ottawa: China has lodged complaints with Canada after the Canadian warship HMCS Montreal sailed through the Taiwan Strait. China’s Defense Ministry said the action caused disturbance and warned Canada to adhere to the “One-China Principle” and be cautious with its actions and statements about Taiwan. Canada’s Defense Minister Bill Blair stated that the warship was on a routine mission as part of Canada’s increased naval presence in the Indo-Pacific region.
