Ottawa: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is calling for an investigation into an Israeli airstrike in Gaza that killed seven aid workers, including one person with dual Canadian-American citizenship.
The charity World Central Kitchen says its workers were killed as they were delivering food.
Trudeau says there needs to be full accountability for the deaths.
He also reiterated calls for a ceasefire in the region.
Earlier, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly also says Canada expects full accountability for the “killings” of seven aid workers in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledges the Israel Defense Forces carried out what he calls an ‘unintended strike,’ which killed “innocent people.”
The aid group World Central Kitchen says its workers were killed by an airstrike as they were delivering food.
Joly says a full investigation is required, and Canada will convey that to the Israeli government directly.
