Quebec: The Quebec government says it is imposing a French-language requirement for out-of-province students at McGill and Concordia universities so graduates will better integrate in Quebec society.
Higher Education Minister Pascale Dery has also announced the government is raising tuition for out-of-province students to
12-thousand-dollars a year.
That’s lower than the 17-thousand dollars it first proposed.
The new French-language standards will be in effect for the 2025-26 academic year, and the tuition hike starts next fall
